
I have had a passion for teaching at graduate level. My students or others may not have the same passion but everybody may be inspired to learn. I have started my academic career as a university lecturer. Teaching at any level requires an understanding of the profile of its students. My philosophy is to inspire students to develop themselves in basic/fundamental study that will be applicable to their profession as well as daily lives.
I believe that different ways of thinking work for different people, and I encourage students to think about problems their own way. When a student is having trouble with a problem or concept, I ask them to explain their thinking to me, and I try to find the smallest adjustment that will get them where they need to be. I believe this improves my students' confidence, and makes it more likely that they can find a way of thinking that works for them.
My research interests span several areas of applied mathematics: Numerical analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Mathematical Modeling and Operations Research.
